Who We Are

Wesley at the University of Arkansas has a long legacy and established tradition of ministry with students on the UA campus. In 1924, through the vision of Central Methodist Church, it became the first Wesley Foundation established in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South (today’s United Methodist Church). The work of the Wesley Foundation remained at Central Methodist 1950’s when we moved to our current location at the corners of Maple and Leverett Streets on the UA campus.

2004 marked 80 years of excellence in work with University of Arkansas students. Thousands of students have had their lives touched, impacted, and forever changed by the message of Christ as communicated through the presence of the UA Wesley Foundation.

Today we prayerfully continue that legacy of excellence. Although affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the community of the Wesley Foundation is made up of students representing all denominational backgrounds, as well as those who have no church affiliation.

Remaining faithful to our past, our present, and our future, we seek to be lead by the Holy Spirit as we remain focused on who we are called to be and on what we are called to do.

Chapel of the Cross

The Chapel of the Cross, designed for the Wesley Foundation by noted architect Warren Seagraves, was opened for use in 1962. Wesley’s offices are located in the chapel at the corner of Maple and Leverett Streets on the University of Arkansas campus.
